When We Are Closed

If an emergency occurs when the surgery is closed, ring the surgery number and your call will be automatically answered by a recorded message informing you of another ‘Birmingham and District General practitioner Emergency Room Ltd (BADGER 0300 555 9999).

If you are expected to attend a Primary Care Centre, you will be advised of the location. You will always be able to contact a doctor although it may not be your registered G.P. Please only use this service in emergencies. If a doctor is visiting you at night, Please put a light on to help the doctor find you. 

NHS Direct or 111

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647)  or 111 to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
